Japanese media reports that individuals are not athletes, and have no severe symptoms.
Most of the cases in the match are among staff and contractors living in Japan, which faces Covid-19 wave record, but 15 new cases Thursday include two athletes from abroad living in the village of Paralympic.
The organizers do not provide details about which teams have, or whether they are related to other positive tests.
There are 13 cases detected in Paralympic Village so far, including five athletes.
