Guwahati: The main reform has been taken to the Assam Government Medical College Hospital by making the functional operation theater (OTS) up to 10 nights.
The medical diagnosis was also extended a few hours until late at night, announcing the health minister of Keshab Mahanta on Monday.
Reformation was brought based on a September 25 review meeting chaired by CM Himanta Buswa Sarma regarding the management of eight medical colleges and public complaints at available health facilities.
“MRI, CT scan, x-ray and several other facilities used to be available between 8am and at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
Starting today, it will continue starting at 16:00 to 10pm.

He said the business would ensure that the diagnosis of patients who came to the hospital on certain days could be done on the day itself.
Manganta said the steps had been taken to run OTS during the night to reduce the waiting time for general operations such as in the case of gallbladder or appendicitis that needed almost a month in several cases to distribute the operating date to the patient.
He said this business aims to reduce this time frame into a maximum of one week.
“To declare a patient suitable for surgery, the main thing is needed four to five days after the patient experiences various tests,” Manganta said.
The Minister told the media that the new machine that will be obtained by the Ministry of Health for the diagnosis in the next phases will be ultra-modern which will reduce dependence on the workforce to operate it.
Manganta said work for a GMCH Hospital Suppection was on the verge of completion and will be assigned in February.
