Bengaluru: In what can spell relief for riders in the state, the government on Monday launched transportation services without contact / without face.
This initiative includes 30 transportation services, including 19 Venings (related to vehicle registration) and 11 Sarathi (SIM).
The transportation department official said this would reduce crowding in RTOS around 70% and save around 70 crore paper per year.
CM Basilvaraj Bommai said almost 60 lakh people visited RTOS throughout the state in one year.
“With this step, the number of RTOS visited will decrease,” he said, adding to them now to authorize dealers to register new vehicles online to reduce delays.
“We will give permission to 10 dealers first.
Based on the pilot, it will be extended throughout the country,” CM said.

Officials say services include issuance of student licenses, registration of motorized vehicles with fully built bodies, name changes in LL, transfer of motor vehicle ownership, issuance of duplicate registration certificates and address changes in RC.
