There are no annual reports from 21 of 29 Panel Info: Study

New Delhi: Even as the right to information acting requires every information commission to prepare reports on the implementation of the law every year that must be placed before the parliament or legislative state, it turns out 21 of the 29 Information Commission (ICS)) (72%) has not published their annual reports for 2019-20.
In terms of putting annual reports on the websites of each ICS, 7% ICS has not provided their latest annual report on their website.
This finding is part of the Report Card on ICS performance together by the Voluntary Organization of Nagrik Satarch and released to mark the 16-year anniversary of RTI Act on Tuesday.
In part of transparency in ICS work, the report states that many IC performance, in terms of publishing annual reports and placing them in the public domain, gloomy.
Only the Central Information Commission and State Information Commission (SIC) Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Mizoram, Nagaland and Uttar Pradesh have published their annual reports for 2020 and made it available on the official website.
SICS OF ANDHRA Pradesh and Telangana have not published their annual reports since the constitution of each SIC in 2017, followed the state of the state of Andhra Palace.
Sic of Odisha has not published its annual report since 2015-16.
In the report based on RTI response received, the Sic of Odisha has stated that the annual report for the 2019-20 period is in preparation.
The report also shows that more than 2.55 lakh interesting and complaints are waiting June 30 this year in 26 information commissions.
Based on the average monthly disposal rate and pulse in the commission, the report issued an analysis that shows that 13 commissions will take more than a year to throw it away.
Odisha Sic will take six years and eight months to get rid of the problem filed on July 1 this year.
