There are no entrance tickets: Herdsmen brings ward to ZP in protest

Nagpur: a member of the Bharvad community, an ethnic group from Gujarat, held a protest in front of the Zilla Parishad (ZP) office on Monday with 60 children.
They alleged that their ward was not given acceptance in ZP schools despite the direction by the Minister of State for Bachchu Kadu School Education.
The problem was first raised last month after a government school in two villages in the district refused to receive children.
This is because the locals objected to Bharvad’s children learn with them.
Bharavad and locals are often in fat because of grazing livestock.
When the problem was taken before Kadu, he had given directions to resolve problems within eight days.
Ramabhai Jograna, Leader of Bharvads, complained that it was more than a week but the formalities were not finished.
Even when some children have been recognized, there are no formalities starting.
“They have not even taken paper like birth certificates and evidence of age.
There is no exact documentation of the receipt that has been done.
Except for the name of the children registered officially, how can we be sure that acceptance has been given?” Jograna said.
Chintaman District Education Officer Wanzari said all 213 children whose cases were taken have been given reception.
However, the school needs to begin first.
None of the schools have begun because of covid restrictions.
Bharvads, who was originally a shepherd from Gujarat, has lived in Vidarbha for at least four decades.
Their generation had migrated from Gujarat because of drought.
Rabaris, another ethnic group of sheep herders from Gujarat, has also lived in Vidarbha since generation.
