There are no funds from MSTC, NMC started Empress Van Road work

Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has begun working for new roads planned at Empress Van even though they have not received funds from Maharashtra State Textile Corporation (MSTC).
Around RS5 Crore is required for the project.
The Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari has announced the project will be completed before the city selection is scheduled for next January next year.
Opposition leader in the Assembly, Devendra Fadnavis, and Tiwari along with many guests featuring Bhoomipai road on the site proposed in Bajeria in Central Nagpur on Saturday.
In his own speech, Tiwari said MSTC had not provided the necessary funds for the road.
Stating that work is done smoothly if people with a mindset and similar principles are in the state government and the body of the Civic, Tiwari said, “MSTC handed over the land after the Fadnivis CM direction but delayed the release of funds.
Only after Fadnivis, the funds approved by MSTC.
Ask for Fadnivis to ensure the release of funds, “he said.
MSTC received approval for the road as part of its industrial layout in 2005.
This is not in the city development plan, so it is not mandatory to the NMC to build it.
MSTC should build your own way.
Talks for the road obtained by momentum after MSTC auctioned plot no.
1, 2 and 8 to the Royal Sandesh Business Park LLP, Orange City Garment Park and Acharya Shree Vidyasagar, respectively, a few years ago.
It is the responsibility of NMC to take over and develop open space and public utilities (PU) in the layout but only concentrate on the road.
In 2019, the NMC has issued a tender to provide contracts for road construction.
Following a series of stories in Toi, the civil head has stopped the tender.
The Civic body took over open space and PU land a few months ago and the work order was issued to the road.
Tiwari claims NMC will not spend a cent on the road.
“Contractor bills will only be cleaned after disbursing money from MSTC,” he said.
Although there are strong objections from activists including Advocates Ankita Shah, NMC cut 365 trees earlier this year for roads.
“There is a wide road in front of the Empress Mall only 20 meters from the proposed new road.
There is also another road on the opposite side.
It seems that the NMC built a road just to benefit the company that bought a plot in the layout.
Commercial projects on the plot will only get if there is one Road, “he said.
Responding to the allegations, Tiwari said the 15 meter wide road was mandatory in any industry layout.
The company has registered with NMC which is looking for changes in users of industries to commercial.
The housing and commercial complexes have appeared on several plots.
So, the layout is no more industrial.
Tiwari said he had proposed a road in 2004.
“This road has saved 164 houses in Bajeria.
According to the DP, NMC must build a road in the same area but in a different place that requires the demolition of 164 houses.
After building this road, DP Road can Removed, “he said.
The new road is likely to cause congestion in front of the Rajwada Palace because it will connect the road there without the right plan.
