PANAJI: While this country led the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the head of the Sawant Pramod minister on Friday raises serious concerns about the level of covid’s livelihood increased from 1.8% to 3.5%.
However, he said that the state government had not imposed restrictions on celebrations and that there were noons at night in the country for now.
“People must take precautions so they don’t need to force night at night,” Sawant said.
The main minister led meeting assignments with Covid management and discussed problems related to the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
“We have not limited any activities to become a tourist season and celebration season.
Christmas is celebrated in a great way and while celebrating Christmas we must take precautions and I hope all will take precautions,” Sawant said.
He said that the Expert Committee would submit a report on Monday and then Taskforce would meet on Wednesday to decide on future actions.
Given the cases of omicrons detected in neighboring countries, Sawant said that the state government has decided to install a genome sequencing machine within one month.
“We will complete the source for the engine on Monday or Tuesday and then order it.
It will be installed at Goa Medical College and Hospital.
This machine is specifically for detecting the omicron variant,” he said.
Sawant said that 28 samples of foreigners suspected of being infected with Omicron variants were sent for genome sequencing, eight people tested positive for Delta variants and 19 reports were still delayed.
The minister’s chairman said that around 3,500 foreigners were in Goa and we strive to keep in touch with these strangers, but some of them cannot be contacted because their cellphones are turned off.
He also said that the Department of Public Health and the Ministry of Tourism will issue advisors for the general public and hotels on Monday.
“We want to say that foreigners who live in hotels and houses must be required to test themselves for Covid after eight days and they have to go to the nearest primary health center for the exam.
If they do not do the test, then the hospitality and people have come into contact With they must insist on doing the test, “said the ministerial head.
Sawant said that if there was a positive foreign test for Covid then they had to go to GMC to do the genome sequencing.
He said that when the level of participants had risen, the public and tourists must take precautions.
CM says that people may not go to crowded places and hold limited functions in the AC hall.
He said that preventive measures were being taken considering tourists from high-risk countries such as Britain and Russia visited the country.
