Pune: The government for now does not consider the Covid vaccine amplifier because there are no recommendations about the IT from the National Technical Advisory Group on immunization (Ntagi), members of Niti Aayog (Health) VK Paul said on Saturday.
“The knowledge of the need and the booster shot time still evolved.
Different vaccines may have a different schedule.
It was carefully watched and studied,” he told Toi.
The focus is now covering the country’s adult population with two vaccine doses, he added.
Against the background of the Chair of the Serum Institute of India Cyrus Poonawalla emphasized the third dose requirement for the covishield vaccine booster six months after the second dose, Paul said very few countries in the world starting with a booster dose.
He also said there were no recommendations from who about it.
“We are watching data that appears in this case continuously and will be guided by Ntagi in this matter,” he said.
About reducing the gap between two covishield doses, Paul said there were no recommendations from Ntagi too.
“This gap between two covishield doses is based on science and there is no problem about it.
So, the government does not think about reducing the gap between two doses,” he said.
