Kalaburgi: Even as a rumor of “the closure of Doordarshan Kendra Gulbarga” gripping the Kalyana Karnataka area, Kalaburagi MP Umesh Jadhav rushed to the office of the Director General, Doordarshan and Air (South Zone) in Bengaluru and got clarified that the station would not be closed.
Meanwhile, Prasar Bharati replied to the Toi report (September 16) on Twitter, said there was no proposal to close Kendra, and it would continue to produce and contribute local content relevance to DD Chandana (Bengaluru).
Jadhav told Tii that he called V Ramakanth, IB (P) S, ADG South Zonal Head, Doordarshan and water, in Bengaluru and discussed this issue, rumors that made people angry.
“Ramakanth clarified that Doordarshan had decided to change analog territorial transmitters (ATT) to digital transmitters.
Furthermore, they bind with the university to produce educational content for Chandana.
He also clarified that there were 29 staff working in Kalaburagi, including only two who had been Transferred.
At present, Kalaburagi Doordarshan produces a weekly half hour program for DD Chandana, “he explained.
Prasar Bharati’s official Twitter handle answered this reporter at 14:15 on Thursday.
When asked whether the power of staff was reduced, it replied: “Overview of labor requirements is a sustainable administrative process and is based on the needs and priorities of the organization, the latest technology, empowerment, automation (SIC)”.
However, it does not reveal the current number of staff at Kalaburagi Station.
The Tweet circuit has become a viral on social media in this region, with netizens sharing the same thing and thanked TOI for taking this matter to Prasar Bharati.
Sunil Kulkarni, President Kalyana Karnataka Grahakara Vedike, said the TOI report played a major role in attracting the attention of Prasar Bharati’s authority in Delhi.
“Even though they denied, there were many unanswered questions like why the transmission was stopped from the Gulbarga DDK three years ago.
We were told that only a few staff left in Kalaburagi with the power of sanction 91 (he quoted the answers in Rajya Sabha in 2018),” he added.
