Ghaziabad: The police failed to make arrests in connection with the robbery of Rs 1.5 Crore at the businessman’s house a month and half ago.
On November 6, cash and valuables were stolen from the House of Timber Merchant Mukesh Gupta in Kotwali when the family was leaving.
A senior police officer said that around 11 o’clock in the morning, Gupta and his son went to their office at Hapur Road while his wife had gone to Meerut with their daughter for Bhai Dooj.
When the mother’s duo returned home a few hours later, they found the main door of their house open.
“They entered the house and found a classified wardrobe and clothes scattered on the floor.
They check almyirah and find cash and valuables disappeared,” said a police officer.
“Gupta told us that he had bought gold and silver ornaments for his daughter’s wedding.
He also lost cash 10 lakh,” he added.
A pine is registered at the Kotwali police station under the Section 380 (theft) of IPC.
SP (City 1) Nipurn Aggarwal said the police suspected someone close to the family.
“Three police teams are working on this case.
We will immediately get instructions in this case,” he added.
