New Delhi: The government has not made a decision on the preparation of the National List of Indian citizens (NRIC) for all countries, the Nityan and Rai Union Minister in Parliament on Tuesday.

Replying to other questions, the minister said anyone who was dissatisfied with the results of the claim decision and objection during the process of preparing NRC in Assam might prefer appeal before the trial of a stranger was appointed within 120 days from the date of the order like that.

Referring to the NPR, Rai said the government had decided to update it along with the first phase of the census 2021.
He said demographics and other details of each family and individuals must be updated or collected during the exercise updating NPR.
“There are no documents that must be collected during this exercise.
However, because of the Covid-19 outbreak, NPR updates and other related field activities have been postponed,” Rai said.
The goal of NPR is to make a comprehensive identity database of every ordinary population in this country.
The database will contain demographic and biometric details.
NPR is a list of ordinary country residents.
It is being prepared at the local level (village and sub-city), sub-districts, districts, states and nationally based on the provisions of the National Citizenship Law, 1955 and Citizenship (Citizens Registration and Issuance of National Identity Cards), 2003.
