Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Wednesday that Pakistan would not restore diplomatic bonds with India until New Delhi revoked the decision to cancel the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
India cancels the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 on August 5, 2019 and divides with two Union regions.
“I want to explain that diplomatic relations will not be restored with India to cancel illegal steps August 5, 2019,” Khan said while handling the National Assembly.
Khan said that “all Pakistan standed near their Kashmir brothers and sisters”.
His statement came in the middle of the back channel contact report between the two parties which led to the ceasefire in the control line in February but there was no further movement reported normalizing bonds.
Pakistan has lowered the bond with India and suspended trading after the Indian government revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
India has stated that the problem related to Article 370 of the India Constitution is entirely an internal problem of the country.
India has also explained to Pakistan that he wants a normal relationship with Islamabad in an environment that is free of terror, hostility and violence.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Office on Wednesday firmly rejected the statement of the Union State Minister who was reported for home Affairs G Kiswan Reddy regarding the recent drone attack on Jammu and Kashmir.
Two Laden-Laden drones hit the IAF station at the Jammu airport in the early hours of Sunday, maybe the first time the suspected Pakistani-based terrorist has used an unmanned air vehicle in the attack.
Reddy was reported to say that the role of Pakistan in the attack could not be rejected.
