Deputy Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar on Saturday said there was no decision about the commencement of the physical class in schools in Pune District as the case of Covid-19 was increasing.
After attending a meeting to review the Covid-19 situation in the district, Pawar said the pool and yard would be open to sportsmen and people who had taken the covid-19 vaccine dose.

Speaking of vaccinations in this district, said Pawar, “a booster dose for people over the age of 60 will be available on Saturdays and Sundays, while vaccination for other age groups will be carried out on Sundays.”
At least 51 percent of children in the age group 15 to 18 years have been given the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in Pune and 75 percent has taken doses in the country’s countryside, said the minister.
The meeting will be held with ZP officials and representatives from industrial estates on vaccination of workers, he said.
The minister further said that despite the number of Covid-19 cases increased, only 1.5 percent of patients were hospitalized.
“The number of people who are hospitalized are very few.
Government hospitals have plenty of space available and even Jumbo Hospital is ready.
Most patients take care at home,” he said.
Previously on that day, the pawa inaugurated the Covid-19 free village initiative in Pune District was started by Pune Zilla Parishad and Bhartiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS).
“Of the 1,898 villages, 1,347 have not participated in the initiative.
I have asked Zilla Parishad officials to motivate villages to participate.
At least 44 villages in Pune District remain free Covid-19 in the last two wideses of pandemics and the majority of these villages come from the Division of Bhor , “Minister said.
Officials have been asked to take this initiative to other districts that come under the Pune division, he said.
“I have asked Saurabh Rao, Commissioner of Divisional Pune Division, to implement this initiative in Kolhapur Regency, Satara, Sangli and Solapur too,” said Pawar.
Pune on Friday recorded 16,618 Covid-19 cases, the addition of one highest day so far, took the overall calculation in the district to 13.13,016, while 10 deaths increased to 19,343.
The district currently has 85,277 active cases, with 2,786 patients treated at the hospital.
