Patna: No one can escape death, but the residents of the village of Mahisaut under the Kushesharmarstan Blok in Darbhanga’s district prayed to the Almighty that no one died during the rainy months when Hamlet Nondescript turned into an island and cremation of the body into a nightmare for local people.
The villagers were at the end of their intelligence when Shivni Yadav (90) exhaled his last Tuesday night.
The next morning, family members began looking for dry land in the nearest villages in rural boats to cremate the body, but in vain.

RAM Pratap Yadav (36), the dead boy, said he made three pyre rounds in a state boat in the middle of a charm of a local priest.
People in six state boats attend a funeral procession and separate boat carrying the body.
“Death during the months of the monsun in the village means torture to the body,” said Dilip Yadav, a local.
Shivakant Thakur, a local priest, said that burning the body is the best form of disposal they according to Hindu beliefs.
Former Mukhiya, Pramod Chaudhary, said the villages under the Kusheshwardshan block were flooded with flood water for almost six months a year.
Famous for his Siwa Temple, Kusheshwarstan is almost 60 km from the district headquarters.
The former Circle Circle Officer Kusheshward, Triveni Prasad, said he was unaware of cremation, but admitted that people faced difficulties in throwing away the body when the flood flooded the village.
