Dhaka: The masses have damaged 66 houses and burns more than 20 homes of Hindus in Bangladesh to the suspected social media poles in the midst of protest by the minority community against the incident of the temple vandalism during the celebration of Puja Durga last week, the authorities said on Monday.
The combustion attack by more than a hundred people will be late on Sunday in a village in Pirganj Upazila in Rangpur District, about 255 km from Dhaka, Bdnews24.com report.
The police rushed to the village when the tension was installed on the rumor that a Hindu citizen had made a post “blasphemy” on Facebook, police officer assistant Mohammad Kamruzzaman told reporters.
“The incident occurred after 10pm (local time) on Sundays but firefighters poured fire in a short time (and) the situation now under full control,” he said.
There were no victims reported but 66 houses were broken and 20 burned during the attack, the officer said.
A total of 52 suspects were arrested while the hunt was launched for more suspects under the “allowance surgery” in collaboration with other security forces, he added.
When the police stood guarded in the man’s house, the attackers burned other houses nearby, the report said.
According to a report by fire service control rooms, the attack scene shows that at least 29 housing houses, two kitchens, two barns and 20 pile of straw belonging to 15 different owners burned at Majipara Pirganj.

The incidence of combustion occurred amid increasing communal tension for a blasphemy event which was allegedly in the place of Puja Durga in Cumilla which caused temple attacks and Hindu clashes and police clashes in Cumilla, Chandpur, Chattogram, Bandpur, Gazpur, Mouvibazar, Gazpur, Mouvibazar, Gazpur, Chapainawabganjanjanjan Feni and other districts.
Dozens of people have been arrested for the attack, the report said.
Four Muslim demonstrators were killed in clashes with police in Haziganj, the worst scene of violence, on Wednesday and Thursday, while the body of a Hindu worshiper was found in a pool in Begumbanjang near the Noakhali district.
Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Buddha-Unity Council said at least 70 puja pavilions and temples were attacked in three days of previous violence.
It alleges that at least four Hindu worshipers have died in attacks in Chandpur and Noakhali.
The authorities have not confirmed the numbers.
Meanwhile, Forced Anti-Crime Elite Battalion Rapid Action (RAB) has arrested two more men in connection with the looting and vandalism of the temple and shops belonging to the Hindu minority community in Feni, about 155 km from Dhaka.
On Saturday, one person was arrested in connection with the attack that occurred when the Puja Feni celebration Committee and his supporters were preparing to protest communal violence in the country.
About 40 people were injured in violence.
On Sunday, two cases were submitted against 400 people who were not named.
On Monday, Dhaka University students hand in hand by protesting religious groups against attacks on temples, Puja places and Hindu community homes throughout Bangladesh, protesters said that protesters requested a separate ministry formation to deal with matters related to group minorities.
Communal tensions come as a Hindu minority, which is 9% of 160 million Bangladesh populations, celebrating their biggest religious festival Durga Puja last week.
PM Sheikh Hasina said the attack was part of the “well-designed plot” to disrupt the country.
In a separate report, BDNews24.com, citing a prominent rights group in Bangladesh Ain O Salish Kendra, said that as many as 3,679 attacks on the minority Hindu community occurred between January 2013 and September this year.
