There is no flow of funds from T’Gana & AP, KRMB’s struggle

Hyderabad: The Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) – Arranging to resolve the problem of water between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh – has fought with their own battle with both countries.
With Telangana and AP did not release funds even after repeated requests, for the past three years KRMB has faced crisis funds even for daily operations.
The board was forced to borrow Hospital Rs 1 Crore from the center in the form of a grant to remain functioning.
Now it has proposed to restore the number if the two countries release their funds.
Not only this, the board is also facing a shortage of personnel, including engineers.
Interestingly, Gazette Center notification recently said these countries must deposit Hospital 200 Crore each for the functioning of the Board.
KRMB has included problems in agenda items and plans to raise it during the board 14 meeting scheduled for August 27.
KRMB officials said that in the board meeting held on June 6, 2018, it was agreed that Telangana and AP would do so distribute budget estimates approved by KRMB in the same proportion (50:50) from the financial year 2018-2019.
“Even after repeated correspondence with countries, KRMB did not receive necessary funds from countries.
While Telangana has released Hospital Hospital 3.5 Crore against the shares of Hospital RS 8.37 Crore for 2020-2021, the AP government did not deposit the number for two years Finally, “Secretary of the KRMB member DM Raipure said in the agenda points sent to the state of the government.
He said for 2021-2022, the Board approved the RS 18 Crore budget.
At the same time, it was decided to create a reserve fund of RS RS 10 crore.
But the number has not been received.
The board only has RS 2.46 Crore at the number of banks to meet its expenses.
KRMB also refers to that the post of four personal secretaries and one senior account officer lay empty for a long time, which causes problems in the function.
“Because KRMB is an autonomous body under the Central Act, people with experience must be appointed as consultants and outsourcing bases.
Because the state government remuneration is not quite profitable to attract suitable candidates, retired employees are not advanced to work with Krmb.
Chairman KRMB must be allowed to hire experienced people with a higher level of remuneration, “said Secretary of the Member.
“Countries, which have not released a budget amount for regular reserve functions and funds (to overcome budget problems), seems reluctant to release Rs 200 Crore.,” Said an KRMB official.
