Pune: Health Minister Maharashtra Rajesh Tope on Tuesday told Toi that the state did not have a plan to introduce additional sidewalks in the celebration of Christmas and New Year.
“Local authorities must ensure that there is no violation of Covid behavior.
The steps must exist to increase vaccination against Covid.
The previous order has all instructions.
It is up to each district to implement instructions correctly,” he said.
Maharashtra weekly front depth (WPR) fell below 1% last week.
Wpr in most districts is also under 2% now.
Experts, however, are from the view that the actual challenge is to ensure a WPR below 0.5% in all districts.
Tope says people must be more careful and obey the behavior in accordance with Covid after the emergence of the omicron variant of the virus.
Until Monday, India has reported 41 Omicron cases, including 20 in Maharashtra.
On Monday, Maharashtra reported two omicron cases again.
The two men were fully vaccinated and had a history of traveling to Dubai.
The State Health Department revealed that the nine Omicron patients had been thrown away.
Rajasthan has so far reported nine cases of omicron followed by Karnataka (3), Gujarat (4), Kerala (1) and Andhra Pradesh (1), Delhi (1) and Chandigarh (1).
During the meeting with the Maharashtra task force on Monday, its members told the Tope that omicron cases were sporadically until now but the state must maintain close closure to each group.
Member of the State Duty Dr.
Shashank Joshi told TII, “We witnessed the case of sporadic and related to the trip (Omicron).
There is no plague on the cluster.
Strict vigil is a must, especially during the new year and wedding season.” He said, ” still has an active delta (variant) in the circulation and the threat of omicrons around.
responsible behavior, complete masking, proper air ventilation and complete vaccination will be important.
“Public health experts and members of the National Task Force Dr.
Subhash Salunkhe said though cases of cases Omicron sporadis, the way forward will be a strict obedience to the behavior that matches Covid and full vaccination.
“Senior citizens must be careful before the celebration of Christmas and New Year.
Respiratory infections are usually high during this period,” he told toi.
“The study is active to determine the omicron virulence.
If the variant is less ferocious but it is more transmitting, it may not lead to a higher burden on the health system.
But given the situation in South Africa and Denmark, someone should not take omicron lightly,” he said.
