There is no help for commuters that cross the Singhu border

New Delhi: Hundreds of protesters reached the Singhu border on Wednesday to protest the murder of Lakhbir Singh on October 15, allegedly by Nihang Sikh.
The protesters tried to destroy police barricades which resulted in clashes where the police had to use mild strength to bring the situation under control.
A police officer told TII that on Wednesday night, hundreds of people, marched under the Hind Mazdoor Banner Kisan Samiti, reached the border of Muzaffarnagar.
“They wanted to do Havan in the place where Lakhbir Singh was killed.
We told them that it was on the side of the Haryana border, but they ignored this information and tried to remove the barricade,” the officer added.
When the officer was asked whether the stick costs were made to disperse the protesters, he answered that the police had used “light strength” to control the crowd and that no one was injured.
“The protesters are now sitting in 80 Fota Road,” the officer said.
When asked whether the family and relatives of Lakhbir Singh were also present among the demonstrators, police officers said there were several women and children among the agitators, but the police could not identify whether they were from the men who died.
