New Delhi: Power Regulator DERC Thursday announced new rates for Delhi without price increases, saying it didn’t see ‘good reasons’ to do it.
However, power bills for consumers can increase slightly from 1 October because the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has increased additional retirement costs from 5 percent to 7 percent.
“After considering all relevant factors, the Commission has come to the conclusion that there is no good reason to make an increase in the existing tariff structure,” Derc said in a statement.
The last fiscal also (2020-21) also, the DERC did not raise electricity tariffs which quoted covid pandemic.
In the order of new power tariffs, DERC has encouraged green power by providing Line Cum Development (SLD) and network augmentation costs for all renewable energy projects to virtual & group clean gauges.
To promote pollution and clean transportation, the Commission has decided to continue with the existing subsidized tariff for vehicles in Delhi.
Power rates in Delhi have not witnessed a big increase since the AAM AAM AADMI Party in 2015.
