Nagpur: A senior official from Vidarbha Irigation Development Corporation (VIDC), has denied reports about any leakage in the structure of the Gosikhurd dam.
Lately the video shows the flow of water flowing out of the viral.
It claims to be leaked by water from the dam in Pauni in Bhandara.
Local residents live in the nearest village – Buda – demanding that they be rehabilitated because they rise to risk for them.
However, a senior official who deals with the project said there was no leakage in the main part of the dam or elsewhere.
Water flows out of the outlet built in all dams like Gosikhurd.
This is called a cross line and the length that follows the dam.
From this outlet excess water from the dam to the nearest water body.
This can pose a threat to villagers nearby, the officer said.
Lately the level of the Gosikhurd Dam was brought to a peak level of 245.45 meters.
VIDC also observes its impact in the nearest area.
Villagers in the area where leakage was reported to also report has also complained about the accumulation of rear water.
There are similar complaints in several other villages too.
Locals claim that there is a hole in the dam that has been rejected by VIDC.
