Vadodara: With the threat of livestock that continues to trouble citizens, Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is looking to ensure that the bovines that are not marked by RFID and registered will not be released after being confiscated.
VMC seized livestock and released it after collecting fines and other costs.
VMC also started the DOOR-TO-DOOR BOVINES marking since October to ensure all livestock in the city had RFID tags.
The source said that even though there was a drive, there were many livestock owners who had not marked their animals.
The others have even sold their tag livestock and buy new animals to escape identified.
VMC enrolled a violation of livestock owners when livestock was identified with this tag.
In the absence of tags, the owner may not come to free their livestock and have never been identified.
The VMC administration has submitted a proposal before the committee stands looking for a nod for the new system does not release livestock if it is not marked.
The proposal states that livestock owners must mark Bovine every time they are born or purchased.
Likewise, they must notify VMC every time an animal marked dies.
A VMC official said that around 32,000 animals were marked by Civic’s body since 2014.
However, many of them have died or sold.
New animals are added due to new births or purchases.
“It’s hard to come to achieve any statistics in the absence of this data,” said an official.
