Gurugram: Cold intensified Gurugram on Wednesday because the minimum temperature dropped to 6 degrees Celsius from 7.3 degrees the previous day, 1.3 degrees below normal.
The maximum temperature reaches 16.2 degrees Celsius, 5.5 degrees below normal.
According to the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD), cold winds from the northwest will blow Gurugram and Delhi-NCR.
The night temperature will go down further by two-three degrees for the next few days and there is a possibility of cold wave conditions on January 28 and January 29, said IMD officials.
Although the minimum temperature was dipped on Wednesday, the city witnessed the break during the day after two days that cooled the ‘severe’ in a row, because the day was bright for some time.
According to IMD, the ‘severe cold day’ is when the minimum temperature is less than 10 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature is at least 6.5 degrees Celsius below the normal season.
The department forecast for Thursday states that there will be a fog in the morning and the sky will remain clear throughout the day.
“There is only a shallow fog in the morning, followed by a bright afternoon.
Cold winds will keep the low day temperatures.
The maximum temperature is expected to float between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius in the coming days,” said Meteorology Navdeep Dahiya.
This month, Gurugram has seen four ‘cold days’ on January 10, 14, 16 and 17, and three severe cold days on January 15, 24 and 25.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has advised people to stay away from crowded places .

The city on Tuesday recorded the coldest day of the season so far, with a maximum temperature at 11.7 degrees Celsius, which is nine degrees below the normal sign.
The minimum temperature is recorded at 7.3 degrees Celsius, the title above normal.
The lowest minimum temperature of the season is recorded at 4.5 degrees on January 1.
Ciy air quality remains in the ‘poor’ category on Wednesday.
The air quality index (AQI) in the city reached 236 on Wednesday, a marginal increase from 238 the day before.
According to the weather bulletin issued by the air quality warning system for Delhi-NCR, medium winds and better ventilation conditions tend to win for the next seven days, because air quality will remain mostly in “poor” for the “moderate” category.
Meanwhile in Delhi, the ‘cold day’ mantra continued for the third day in a row on Wednesday.
