Ahmedabad: Providing information about the proposal for Metro Rail projects that have been received from various states and the United States, the central government told parliament that he had received 16 proposals, but none of Gujarat.
“Based on the feasibility of the proposal and the availability of resources, the central government considers these projects in cities or agglomerat urban,” said Minister of Housing and Urban HardeeP Singh Puri, added that there was no new Metro Rail proposal delivered by the Gujarat government for funding.
With the aim of providing a fast and clean urban transportation system to the public, seven states and two union areas have sent 16 proposals for expansion or fresh construction of train projects to the center.
Puri told Lok Sabha on February 10, urban transportation was an integral part of urban development, and while it was the responsibility of the state government of certainty to start, develop, and fund urban transport infrastructure including Metro train projects, the central government considered.
