There is no pause from the rain, the cave part remains submerged

Panaji: Heavy rain continues to destroy the country for the third day in a row, resulting in waterlogging in several regions, submerged roads, and damage to several structures, including legacy buildings in Panaji.
The building, on Jalan M Ga, behind Geeta Bakery, collapsed on Wednesday afternoon, but nothing was inside, and no one was injured.
Losses are not yet estimated, but fire services together with the Panaji City personnel company (CCP) clean up debris.
CCP Commissioner Agnelo Fernandes said that the building was not one of the 80 identified by the body became unsafe.
“This is not registered.
We will check again.
We will ask for our junior engineer to go again to see if we miss any structure,” he said.
But the bathrooms that are unrelenting are spread throughout the state.
Some lay areas are low, including in Sakhali, flooded, with water even entering the city market.
The highway is also flooded, endangering the lives of mango trees falling at home in Pernem, Surla and Chorao, and on the jeep in Karmali.
In old cave, the sour tree falls in a house, and in Loliem, the mango tree comes crashing into a cowhouse.
There were no casualties reported in any incident, the fire said.
The electricity department also on their toes after the wind causes trees to fall on the line and reduce the pole which causes power disruption in Bardez, Vasco, Ponda, Curchorem, Chicalim, Mapusa and several other regions.
When asked about the flood in Panaji, the Mayor of Rohit Monserrate said CCP had cleared the channel several times and added that the infrastructure problem must be addressed because “the drainage system was not designed to handle this volume of water”.
He added that the CCP must ask for higher authorities to improve the city drainage system.
Fernandes said the old Portuguese waterways were on the surface of the water.
“When there is a receding water, water cannot flow out again.
I won’t call it flooding, it’s just accumulated or puddles because when the tide goes down, in ten minutes, the city is drained.
Water does not remain here for four to five days like Other cities.
If you see the water channel, the outlet is exactly on the surface of the water, “he said.
“The city has grown, we cannot raise the city, the burden is far more and the transfer of water is more due to asphalting, concreting and pavers,” he added.
Monserrate said the CCP must handle this problem and produce a comprehensive plan for Panaji.
