There is no power supply, NHAI uses a set of DG for underpass atmosphere

Gurugram: The Indian National Highways Authority (NHAI) has said that it has repeatedly urged Discom’s power to accelerate electrical connections for U-turn four paths near the Ambience Mall before opening it for trials from October 17 but Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) Allegedly “Dragging their feet” on this problem.
NHAI, who has missed several deadlines to open an underpass that will cut an additional four kilometer drive to Rajokri in Delhi for taking U-turn to get to the atmosphere mall, DLF Phase-3 and the adjacent area, on Sundays finally opened this for testing Try it until diwali.
Officials say NHAI currently relies on diesel generators for trials but the opening of full underpass without a permanent connection will be “impossible”.
“We have written a letter to DHBVN and raises an electrical connection request.
For several days they dragged their feet and finally did not provide connections.
And because this project was under the supervision of the state government and trade unions, we must launch a trial with a temporary arrangement.
But for the full opening of underpass, we need a power connection but do not get cooperation and assistance from DHBVN, “A senior Nhai official, who did not want to be identified, told Ti on Tuesday.
NHAI, in written correspondence with DHBVN on October 14, has stated that project contractors – RAM Kumar Contractor – has submitted the application well in advance and pay more than Rs 1.5 lakh in DHBVN contributions requested by DHBVN.
However, their application was rejected three times without stating the reason or suggesting a way to get a connection.
These are the fourth time in three weeks that NHAI has approached DHBVN with new requests.
NHAI officials said it was now close to the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to intervene in this matter.
“There is no real reason for Dhbvn to reject our request.
We assume that it can also be because they want to use it as a bargaining chip to get permission for their line workers near the Dwarka Expressway and NH-8 intersection.
We have asked GMDA to see This problem and helps us get the earliest connection, “other NHAI officials said.
Meanwhile, DHBVN claims that the department follows the process of the process of providing an electrical connection and will take another week to discom to complete the work.
“It was only last week we got the right application from the NHAI contractor and we were reviewing requests.
It was in the finalization stage and we hope to provide connections within a week.
Nhai must be sure of our cooperation,” said Chief Engineer DHBVN KC Agarwal to TOI .
Nhai said that it would take more than 4-5 days, from the day to get an electrical connection, for the authority to complete inspections and other works to make underpass fully operate.
