Jaipur: The State Government Friday published fresh guidelines that maintain the prohibition of all religious processes and functions, including Kanwar Yatra in Rajasthan.
New guidelines prohibit large meetings in public and religious places for prayers in Eid al-Adha.
Likewise, major churches in public and religious places for Chaturmas, which are observed every year for four months by Jain worshipers, will not be permitted according to new norms.
All other religious events are also strictly prohibited in Rajasthan according to the Covid protocol.
The government, however, has allowed the opening of public parks from 5am to 4pm for all.
But those who have received at least one dose of covid vaccine can visit the park until 8pm.
Fresh guidelines will come into force since Saturday morning.
Some worshipers hope for relaxation for Kanwar Yatra this year.
There are more than 3,000 people participating every year in Yatra in Jaipur.
Jaipur has more than 12,000 temples dedicated to Lord Shiva.
People every year come to the galta of Kund to take water and walk across the distant temple “according to my estimates, sometimes the number of yatris exceeds 3,000.
This is not included by people traveling to Haridwar and other places.
Kanwar Yatra has one rule Main – The one starts, a worshiper cannot stop anywhere and must keep water on the shoulder at any time, “said Bharat Sharma, who runs Dharohar Bachao Samiti and participated in Yatra.
Advocates Akshaya Sharma, who participated in Kanwar Yatras said that because Covid-19, many worshipers themselves did not want to go on Yatra this time.
“People themselves avoided participating in Yatra because of last year’s pandemic, and because many people had recovered from disease, they could not go on Yatra this year,” he said further.
