Patna: The Chairman of the Minister of Nitish Kumar on Friday categorically rejected the request for some relaxation in strict anti-liquor laws for those who came to Bihar from outside the country.
Overcoming a general meeting in Gopalganj as part of his ‘Samj Sudhar Abhiyan’, CM said many people had opposed it because he dared to enforce a total ban in the state.
“Some people say people who come to Bihar from the outside must be given permission to drink liquor.
Are the people from other places visiting Bihar to drink liquor? Why do we have to give permission to outsiders?” Nitish asked.
Quoting A WHO reported the percentage of alcohol deaths around the world, Nitish said this report showed the adverse effects of the Globe.
CM also rejects suggestions by parts of people who are released for medical reasons for alcoholics.
“Some people argue that alcoholics will fall ill if they are not allowed to drink.
I say you will fall ill only after you drink.
If you don’t drink, you will not fall sick.” Nitish also rejected the disputes of his enumerators about the alleged decline in foot tourism.
