New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to provide temporary orders to protect around 6000 NGOs whose FCRA registration was not updated.
The court asked them to make representation to the center that would make a decision according to the law.
The center told SC that 6000 NGOs did not apply to the temporary license update 11594 NGOs which have been given file updates to operate.
FCRA registration is mandatory for each association and NGO to receive foreign funds.
The request, submitted by the US ‘Global Peace Initiative’ NGO, appeared to hear before the bench consisting of judges a M Khanwilkar and C T Ravikumar.
