There is no scientific evidence found linking Covid vaccination with infertility: Government

New Delhi: The Ministry of Health of the Union on Wednesday said that there was no scientific evidence that showed Covid-19 vaccination could cause infertility in men and women and confirm the vaccine was found safe and effective.
Furthermore, said that the national expert group about vaccine administration for Covid-19 (Negvac) also recommends Covid vaccination for all nursing women, directing it as safe without the need to stop or pause breastfeeding before or after inoculation.
The ministry statement came after a media report which expressed concern about infertility due to Covid-19 vaccination among reproductive age populations and whether the vaccination was safe for breastfeeding women.
The Ministry of Health as clarified in the FAQ posted on the website that there are no vaccines available that affect fertility both men or women, because all their vaccines and constituents are tested first in animals and then in humans to assess whether they have side effects, said statement that.
The vaccine is authorized to use only after its safety and efficacy is guaranteed.
“Furthermore, to curb a common myth about infertility due to Covid-19 vaccination, the Indian government has clarified that there is no scientific evidence that the Covid-19 vaccination can cause infertility in men and women.
Vaccines have been found safe and effective,” said the statement , Furthermore, said that in recent interviews, Dr.
N K Arora, Chair of the Covid-19 Working Group of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (Ntagi) has returned to this fear and suspicion.
He said that the wrong information was also created during the provision of polio vaccines in India and abroad that children who get vaccines may face infertility in the future.
He assured that all vaccines passed intense scientific research and no vaccines that had such side effects, the statement was stated.
Negvac also recommends Covid-19 vaccination for all nursing women, fill it safely without the need to stop or pause breastfeeding before or after vaccination, he said.
