PANAJI: The Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday that the state government only told the permanent mineral ore commune fund scheme (GMOPF), and that no money was utilized.
He also said that the state has communicated with the Central Empowerment Committee of the Supreme Court (CEC) that there is no funds that will be utilized without the approval of the APEX court.
Sawant responded to criticism from several quarters of the use of state funds.
“The state has not spent one rupee from the state mineral funds.
We want it to be spent loading Covid,” he said.
“Even if it’s used, it will be the interests of the state.
But some politicians criticize so that the funds are still not used.
If the state mineral funds are used for the interests of the state, they must respect this, and do not criticize,” Sawant said.
Sawant then explains the mechanism involved in the use of funds.
“On July 27, the CEC member secretary wrote to the Mining and Geological Directorate (DMG), seeking clarification on the notification of the scheme without obtaining the Supreme Court approval.
On August 9, the DMG clarified the Secretary of the Member that the scheme notification was approved by the state government with the state That the implementation will submit to the final decision of the Supreme Court, “Sawant said.
The Supreme Court has not given the final decision.
Sawant said that in July last year, the DMG country wrote to the Secretary of the Member, CEC, about the filing of the draft GMOPF scheme, and submitting the draft.
Then, on December 2, DMG wrote to the Secretary of the Member again for several development related to the design of the scheme.
However, no response received from CEC, Sawant said “in April (this year), a written statement was submitted by DMG before SC regarding the Compliance Scheme with the direction of SC in 2012.
On June 10, the cabinet approved the GMOPF scheme and placed it before SC provided that the implementation must submit to the final decision of the court, “Sawant said.
CM says that the state has made the necessary communication into CEC from time to time.
“It is clear that we want to use mineral funds only for the benefit of the state, subject to all clarification with SC and CEC,” Sawant said.
