There is no technology to stop black smoke when the plant starts: CSTP

Chandrapur: Thermal Super Chandrapur (CSTP) Power Station officially acknowledged that the plant emitted black smoke from the stack (chimney) Unit No.
6 In September 5.
However, factory management is less playing everyday emissions while leaving the back clouds hanging in part of the city, claiming that they do not have technology to control emissions during the lights (restart).
After shutdown from each generation unit.
Toi has teased high emissions from the factory on September 5, based on complaints submitted by the environment from Yogeshwar Dudhpachare.
CSPP Chief Engineer Pankaj Samat explained that coal fuel power plants use furnace or light diesel oil to turn on the boiler first, and after the furnace reaches the desired temperature, coal powder is used to produce electricity.
“This activity may take eight to 10 hours to reach the desired furnace parameters, and during this time black smoke may rise from the stack.
However, the electrostatic precipitator (ESP) is set at that time to capture dust particles,” he stabbed.
He stated that because this was a technical part of the burning boiler, scientifically it could not be passed.
He stated that no technology was proven in the thermal power industry to fully capture black smoke emitted from the stack during the light process.
He retains efficient pollution control equipment installed in the factory to capture regular emissions.
Dr.
Dudhpachare’s complainant, who lives on the outskirts of the factory, stressed that the old power plant unit was responsible for high pollution from the factory.
“Sometimes when the Guardian minister has ordered an investigation into high CSPP emissions, his officials have pleaded guilty for causing pollution while lighting every unit in their statement,” he showed.
He told me that high emissions were a general phenomenon of CSTP long stacks.
Unit no.
III and IV have a 210 MW generation capacity of each in the factory over 35 years old and is truly outdated.
Even the V and VI units have a 500MW generation capacity of almost 30 years and built using old technology.
“The old CSTP unit has been obsolete and needs to be removed to save the lives of Chandrapur people.
A recent analytic report shows that Chandrapur has seen more than 52,000 respiratory disorders for the past four years.
There are a total of 302 deaths due to pollution in Chandrapur between 2017 and 2021, “he showed.
