JAMSHEDPUR: More than 400 villagers, most of the tribes who live under Itagarh Panchayat in the Serialla-Kharsawan District (about 47 km from Jamshedpur), have decided to boycott the upcoming rustic polls because of their request for road construction that does not have a highway connect their village.
fulfilled.
Panchayat Pradhan Ravindra Sardar Aka ‘Tiger’ accused that even after several guarantees from Local MLA and now the Minister of Transportation of the Champai State Soren, the construction of the road that should not be involved with Kuldih has not even begun.
He said for the past three years, villagers have met several officers in this relationship but nothing materialized.
Sardar said the road conditions were very poor so villagers faced many problems even in their daily lives.
Vehicles are heavy, including ambulances cannot enter the area.
He added that it needed more than 30 minutes to cover 1.5 km by foot, which could be easily brought to 10 minutes if the road was built.
He said Champai Soren had lifted the problem in the assembly but no one came.
The head of Panchayat said the villagers have decided that if there are no actions taken in this regard immediately, they will intensify their agitation and boycott all of the upcoming polls, including the election of Panchayat.
