‘There isn’t much budget for Kerala’

Thiruvananthapuram: Minister of Finance of the State of Balagopal and Chief of Pinarayi Vijayan – who went in Dubai – said that the Union budget was lacking in many aspects, especially when the country struggled with a pandemic.
Former Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac said that the Union budget had completely ignored the general sector and Agri.
Vijayan said the budget weakened stated that was destroyed by the breakup of Covid-19.
“The budget does not consider the expansion of GST compensation for five years.
There is no periodic increase in the section of the Central Tax Revenue allocation to state.
The budget ignores the needs of the poor,” he said, adding that there was no proposal to hold the price increase and it was friendly.
But, it was encouraging that the center found a role model in the unique initiative of Kerala like a digital university, he said, while reaffirming the country’s demand to renew the GST compensation period and also established the AIIMS center here.
Meanwhile, Balagopal expressed his disappointment at the budget focus.
“The center rejects proposals that state loan ceilings increase to 5% of the GSDP of the country.
Instead, the same has been reduced from 4% to 3.5%.
This is a big setback for all countries,” he added.
Balagopal said the center did not do anything to overcome the increase in the unemployment rate and economic setback due to a pandemic.
The minister, who criticized the government because it did not take steps to collect higher taxes from corporate companies, claiming that signs of rising fuel prices will soon be hidden in the budget.
The Chairperson of the Economist Committee and former state of B A Prakash said there was a gap in the claim of a revival in the economy.
“The claims of 9% growth seem wrong.
It seems that the premise of such a claim is wrong.
The fact that there is no concrete proposal to produce employment opportunities to underestimate all other redness claims,” he said.

The former FM Isaac asks what type of inclusive growth is the United Finance Minister who talks about when the fuel tax increases.
Compared to last year’s budget, increased allocation for agriculture was only 2% this year.
Compared to pre-covid time, there is a reduction of 43% in the money spent on fertilizer subsidies, food, Agri and the Allied sector, he said.
The only way the increase in the price of arrest is to reduce fuel taxes with a common level in 2014.
The budget allocation for rural work guarantee schemes is almost the same as the amount given last year.
Compared to the one in the 2021-22 budget, this budget only adds 2.5% to six core schemes for the poor.
Although there are no funds for the day lunch scheme in school, the health sector will only get Rs 0.86L Crore, which is the same as last year, he added.
