There was no guarantee for four Bengaluru police in a bribery case

Bengaluru: Special Court for Prevention of Corruption Cases has denied anticipatory guarantees for four police officers who are bound to the Cent Whitefield Police Station.
Inspector Renuka JM, 37, and subordinates – Sub-Inspector of Naveen Kumar, 32, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ganesh N, 37, and Constable Hemanth Kumar – Facing allegations of receiving RS 5 Lakh bribes from Sudeep VV, an interior designer and accused of having a cheating case .
Officials also faced charges of demanding more bribes from Sudeep to ensure he did not face arrest.
Sudeep has recorded a cellular call in which one of the police accused of allegedly demanded bribery and filed a complaint with ACB on July 20.
“The applicant seems to have been involved in extracting money from informants (sudeep) and if this is left to occur., People will lose confidence in the police,” Judge Lakshminarayana Bhat K, Special Judge (ACT PC), was stated on August 9 and Ganesh had argued that they do not demand or accept bribes.
The duo admitted that they had brought sudeep to the station in the case of cheating but said the same thing could not be called illegal.
Renuka argued that he had taken over as the inspector of the Cen Whitefield crime police station on July 14 and the case of cheating on the sudeep was registered on July 6 and he was not aware of the facts of this case.
The prosecution said there was evidence that the suspects demanded Rs 10 Lakh as illegal satisfaction not to capture Sudeep in a case registered with it and had collected Rs 5 Lakh from him.
Renuka, Naveen, Ganesh and Hemanth were suspended on July 29.
