New Delhi: The Ministry of Education on Monday said there was no proposal in consideration from a publicly funded university to establish campus abroad.
Education Minister Union Dharmendra Pradhan provides information in a written response to a question in Lok Sabha about whether Delhi University and many other public-funded universities apply to establish their campuses abroad.
“Until now there are no such proposals being considered at the Ministry of Education.
All central universities including Delhi University are legal autonomous organizations set based on parliamentary actions and regulated by their respective actions and laws made here – below,” Pradhan said.
“All administrative decisions, academics are taken by universities with the approval of their legal entities, such as the Executive Board, Academic Council and Court.
However, central universities can recognize their special rights, every institution located outside India is subject to the provisions they act,” he added.
