Pune: Major City, Murlidhar Mohol, on Tuesday launched a thermocol recycling initiative together from Pune Municipal Corporation, collection of solid waste and handling collective wastepickers and KK NAG Private Limited.
The city produces around 0.4 -0.5 tons of thermocol waste every day and the initiative plans to overcome this problem by ensuring end-to-end collection, helps reduce the burden of the existing solid waste management system.
“Thermocol is a recycled material used primarily for packaging.
However, it is difficult to manage after the goods have been delivered safely.
1,500kg garbage collection vehicles from PMC can only carry around 50 kg of thermocol.
This is a waste of resources and increases expenses.
See all This, a 5-month pilot project was carried out in the city, where the thermocol waste 7.83 tons (7.830kg) was collected.
It saves 32 travel-operator-operator trips to landfills, increasing transportation efficiency and saving money for corporations.

K K K Nag Pvt Ltd is recycling all thermocols in its own facilities and reuse the material, say statements issued by the company.
“Our goal is to ensure that there is no piece of thermocol used, take a walk within the boundaries of citizenship.
