Delhi: While the Delhi Air Quality Index (AQI) reached the ‘severe’ category at night Diwali, the Janpath area recorded ‘dangerous’ air quality on Friday morning as a tangled blanket with the ceiling of the national capital.
Although the Delhi government has banned firecrackers, people explode crackers on the road.
Some people also complain of the itchy throat and runny eyes.
In Janpath, a 2.5 pollution meter concentration (PM) stand at 655.07.
Meteorological institutions have predicted AQI 500 plus for Thursday and Friday after Delhies exploded crackers on Diwali’s day.
A very quiet wind condition in Delhi combined with a 25 percent share of stump (Fire Count 2,293) is the two main factors of pollution on Friday.
According to the middle-term air quality system and weather forecasting and research (Safar), air quality will not improve until Sunday night (November 7).
Improvements will, however, only fluctuate in the ‘very poor’ category, report Ani.
“The quality of Delhi’s air as a whole plunged into the top of the very bad category …
it will continue to fall now and can enter the” very poor “edge to the” severe “category by tonight …” Inform Safar.
Safar added, “If firecrackers were burned even 50 percent last year, PM2.5 will enter the ‘severe’ category at midnight and shoot quickly today in the morning with AQI even crosses 500+.” As per the estimated Safar model, the share of stump will touch ~ 35 percent today (November 5) and ~ 40 percent on November 6 and November 7 “Not expected only from November 7 nights but AQI will fluctuate in a very bad range,” he said.
