Thieves make straw in the middle of a rigorous curfew rule

Vadodara: Thieves seem to find the right night hours to play cats and mice with police deployed at all important city points throughout the night to ensure strict implementation.
In the latest break-in, a mobile shop near the busy circle that is busy in Makarpura is targeted where the thieves have flaped with cellphones, accessories, and digital video recorders (DVRs) from CCTV cameras, all worth more than Rs 14 Lakh.
Kiran Patel, who has a store for the past 15 years, told the police that he and his brother found the shutter was not locked when they went to their store on Saturday morning.
Patel peeked inside through the window and realized that the store was suspected because the empty cellphone box lay on the floor.
When the duo goes inside to check the CCTV camera footage, they find that thieves have taken DVRs too.
Then, the estimate was studied that 82 smartphones from various companies worth Rs 13.8 lakh were lost, in addition to accessories worth RS 50,000 including ear pods, bank batteries and speakers, among others.
Patel also said that some cellphones and car accessories were also gone but he had no details.
In the past 10 days, thieves target six houses in various regions in the city.
Cash and valuables worth more than Rs 8 Lakh were stolen from these four houses while from two houses, thieves could not find anything.
Last month, six stores located a few hundred meters from the Raopura police station were broken down.
However, it turned out to be a lucky day for the shop owner because thieves did not find cash.
