Thane: a ‘obedient’ thief who prayed to the god before stealing a donation box from Temple Thane was arrested by Naupada police.
Police said the defendant entered the temple in the Khopat area on November 9, and allegedly stealing a cash box containing around Rs 1,000.
The incident was reported after the temple caretaker approached the police who scan CCTV recordings and find thieves roam around the place and respect their actions.
Naupada police identified the defendant from CCTV grabbing and arresting it on Saturday.
Stolen cash also recovered, the officer said.
