New Delhi: Branch of Delhi Police Crime has arrested a 37-year-old Conman, who along with his colleagues, allegedly deceiving people more than Rs 2.5 Crore by promising Freebies and bonuses on their insurance policy.
The defendant, Sandepeep Soni, got a gift of Rs 25,000 to him, said DCP (Crime) Manoj C.
“He belonged to Patna, but hid in Pune for six years.
Orders who were not proven to be issued by the court,” he added.
In 2015, Executive Director of LIC, New Delhi, has filed a complaint, allegating that some people have employees who are emulated from LIC and offer favorable benefits, such as free credit cards, medical benefits, etc., on policyholders, then, are lured to make payments which supports several private institutions companies.
After receiving payment, the defendant cut into contact with the policy holder and changed their cellphone number.
In this complaint, a registered case and investigation was taken.
During the investigation, eight identified people who run this racket and target people in Delhi, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
They use cellphone numbers and bank accounts, which are purchased with fake IDs.
Despite several attempts, the main accusation, Soni, could not be arrested, even though his colleagues were arrested by the police.
Recently, the police received IT off about his movements in Pune.
RAID was carried out by a team consisting of Mangesh Tyagi and other inspectors and the defendant was arrested.
