Gurgaon: The third sero survey will be held in Haryana from June 15.
This time, the two-day survey will also focus on children above the age of 6 years, health officials said.
A total of 8,800 participants will be surveyed, of whom 3,520 will be in the age group of 6 and 17 years.
Samples of 400 participants will be collected from each district in Haryana.
The survey will cover eight urban and 12 rural clusters in each district.
The health officials said that samples of 20 individuals from each cluster will be collected, of whom 12 samples will be of people above 18 years, six samples will of participants between 10 and 17 years and two samples will be of those between six and nine years of age.
While 850 samples were collected from each district in the first sero survey, 720 samples were collected in the second one.
A sero survey includes testing a group of individuals to monitor trends in prevalence of infection.
“In case of children below 17 years of age, their parents’ consent will be sought by our teams.
Five ml of blood will be drawn from adults while 2-3 ml of blood will be collected from children,” said Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer, Gurgaon.
