Third wave possibilities early next year: health experts

Patna: With an exponential increase in Omicron cases around the world, the third wave of Covid-19 is almost certain now, say a health professional.
Although the state has not reported the Omicron case to date, the number of people infected with this new variant is increasing rapidly in various states and the possibility of Bihar sooner or later.
Health experts estimate that the third wave of Covid-19 can be witnessed early next year if the current trend continues.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences-Patna Covid-19 in-Charge Dr.
Sanjeev Kumar said that many people came to countries from all over the world and local communities were not strictly adhering to the safety protocol, the Omicron variant would definitely be in the second week of January.
“Omicron spreads at a price we have never seen with the previous variant.
There is a need for readiness because this new variant is very contagious and dodge immunity.
Even people who are vaccinated with multiple doses are reportedly infected with this tension,” he said, adding that the genome sequencing must be done correctly in more places in the state.
According to Dr.
Arun Shah, a senior pediatrician based on Muzaffarpur, omicron cases spread such as wildfire throughout the world.
In addition, it avoids immunity even in people who are vaccinated or in people with a history of natural infections.
There are concerns about the emergence of mutant variants with the persistence of chain transmission.
“In a very short period, it has affected 82 countries and spreads exponentially.
More than 60 cases have been reported from our country and if it spreads like this, the third wave will definitely crash into Indian countries, including Bihar in a few months,” he said.
Dr.
Shah suggested that the government should consider proposals for the administration of a vaccine booster dose to the people who were vaccinated with two doses so they could be protected from viruses.
“Children’s inoculation must also begin.
In addition, the government must also strengthen its health infrastructure to fulfill the possibility of all the possibilities behind fresh waves,” he added.
Nalanda Medical College and Deputy Deputy Hospital Dr.
Satish Kumar regret that even though the government took all the necessary steps after the threat of Omicron, there was no seriousness among the people.
“Most people do not use facial masks or maintain social distance, said Kumar.
Patna University Central Chief Medical Chief Dr Anil Kumar said the third wave of Covid-19 would be very dependent on the screening of travelers who came from the outside and the alertness of the local population.” The way people are – People mix freely during the festival and marriage, it is bound to create a favorable situation for the emergence of the third wave in the near future, “he said, adding that the government must continue to strengthen supervision, public health and drive vaccination.
