Thiruvananthapuram: Crowding and Demonstration scenes from corp council, Museum Authorities register the Case against BJP councillors

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 2 days after a town company councillor expired of Covid associated complications, company office observed noisy scenes of demonstration and crowding on Wednesday and Museum authorities registered case against about 30 BJP councillors on behalf of rioting and also for breaking provisions of Kerala outbreak disease ordinance. The incident occurred within a council meeting scheduled on Wednesday. Mayor Arya Rajendran had uttered a party meeting where it had been agreed that undercover members of every party could attend the council meeting and staying councillors will attend to the meeting through internet. On Wednesday, four BJP councillors sat at the council hall whereas the rest councillors accumulated in the gallery carrying placards. This resulted in verbal exchanges involving CPM councillors along with BJP councillors. Mayor Arya Rajendran asked the BJP councillors to retire on workplace rooms and then wait for the meeting through the internet connection. After the councillors refused to leave the gallery, then Mayor Arya Rajendran announced that a few of the things in the agenda were passed along with other things would be considered within another council. BJP councillors later staged a demonstration before company office. Museum police verified that case was filed against the councillors who offended Covid-19 protocol along with staged protests. BJP councillor P Ashok Kumar stated they had filed a letter to Mayor Arya Rajendran hunting consent to the involvement of all of the councillors at the council assembly. ” She did not respond to our petition. They wanted to maintain it on line as we were planning to flag flaws in a number of the things on the schedule. They hence prevented a open council session. Besides we’d intended to raise concerns concerning the behaviour of kitchen also,” stated Ashok Kumar. When asked if they had consented to get a stipulated amount for the council assembly Ashok Kumar stated that when meeting session and also swearing in service could be held , there wasn’t any reason why council semester ought to be restricted to internet medium. Arya Rajendran stated that it had been BJP that had put forward the concept of internet assembly when triple lockdown had been in effect. ” When we thought of council assembly, they just indicated it could be stored on line. After the passing of the councillor, we chose to restrict the engagement to 20 members that will have restricted number; 5 in CPM, 4 by BJP, 3 in UDF and heads of standing committees. Now once I was going to go into the brand new hall, BJP required that a more member will be permitted. I could not have let that at the previous minute. There was an overall resistance to conducting the council using BJP councillors sitting at the gallery and that I announced the things passed with a couple of exceptions,” said Arya Rajendran.
