Thiruvananthapuram: Spiritual Leader and former Varkala Head of Sivagiri Mutt, Swami Prakashananda died on Wednesday at the age of 99.
The existing administrator and Scholar Par Excellence, Prakashananda is known for its invaluable contribution to the growth of Sivagri Mutt as a pilgrimage of the International Reputation and Traditional Chair of Spiritual Enlightenment , Swami Prakasananda, who is not in accordance with the past few years due to age-related diseases, exhales the last breath at the Mission Narayana Varkala Hospital.

Swami Prakashananda has come to Sivagiri at the age of 23 and has undergone a Vedas study under the guidance of Swami Sankaranda, who then heads Mutt.
Swami Prakashananda has had the difference being the longest portion head of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust.
He was the secretary general of trustees for nine years from 1970.
He also served as Trust President Three.
Swami PrakashanYou was born as the son of Raman-Velumbi’s couple at Piravanthoor Kalatharadi House in Kollam in 1922.
He was named Kumaran.
After years of study in Sivagiri Mutt, he made a two-year-old spiritual trip from Kankumari to Nepal and returned in 1958, at the age of 35 to accept ‘Sanyasa Deeseka’ from Swami Shankaranada and consider the name Prakashananda.
It was Precashananda who took the initiative to observe the 50th anniversary of Samadhi Sree Narayana Teacher as an international event in 1977.
