Thiruvananthapuram: The District Court, Thiruvananthapuram, has remained the order of the High Court who asked the former Minister V S Achuthanan to pay the compensation of Rs 10.10 Lakh to the former Head of the Chandy Oommen Minister.
Orders were issued by a low court in the case of defamation submitted by Chandy that Achuthananandan made accusations unfounded with him in connection with solar scam.
Shibu Daniel’s main sub-judge had ordered Achuthanandan to pay compensation for Rs 1 Lakh plus a 6% interest for days after the complaint was submitted together with the court fee.
However, Achuthanandan has appealed this command where the principle session of Judge P V Balakrishnan ordered to stay on the verdict.
