Thiruvananthapuram: With more than 4,000 covid-19 cases and 47 deaths, Mudakkal Panchayat with densely populated 44 colonies have a high-level test recording (TPR), increasing serious challenges for the health team in controlling deployment.
In June, July and August, the weekly TPRS Mudakkal Panchayat is always above 10%.
Between August 23 and 29, Mudakkal daily TPR was recorded between 26.9% and 34.7%.
Even before the detention is still based on the ratio of weekly population infections, Mudakkal consistently thought in category D requiring strict lock steps.
At the beginning of this month, Mudakkal recorded 14.4% weekly TPR, in mid-August, the weekly positive level rose to 27.5% and at the end of August, it had touched 31.7%.
In July, when the second wave seems to slowly recede in many local bodies, Mudakkal remains an isolated case.
The weekly TPRS remains above 15% for almost all weeks.
The situation was worse in May and June, when the case had reached its peak evenly distributed throughout the local body.
Strict lock restrictions have almost zero and according to health officials related to the pancidic, mudakkal is a classic example of a home cluster in the colony inhabited closely.
“In June, people are willing to be shifted to household care centers from the first-line treatment center.
However, in July and August, the case continued to emerge in the colony.
There is a limit that we can uphold restrictions in the house.
While Mudakkal remains approximately under strict detention for the past two to three months, not a little to control the spread because of the case of deployment in the house, “said an official.
There are cases where as many as 80 residents from a single colony must shift to the first line center.
However, recently one person in a positive family in Chemboor Colony and infection spread to 11 other family members because they agreed to be in isolation houses but quarantine norms were rarely observed.
There are practical difficulties for the health team in maintaining a constant tab in the isolation room.
A look at the case of local bodies chart in three to four months shows that Mudakkal is always above 10 local bodies with the highest number of Covid cases.
The Panchayat authorities also acknowledge irregularities in the isolation room.
“The reluctance of infected people to come to household center care centers and first-line treatment centers (CFLTCs) and the presence of many colonies add to the peak at the infection rate.
Mudakkal has one of the highest number of colonies for every perfection in the district.
When we identify the main contact of infected people, they refuse to shift to the DCC or CFLTCS.
In areas inhabited closely, there is no way to ensure the right isolation room.
Sharing eating space and toilet leads to the rapid spread of infection.
