Thiruvananthapuram: The police have arrested three people in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a 37-year-old man from Mannadikon near Maranalloor.
The defendant was identified as Abhijith, 29, from Anavoor, Hamesan, 34, Venkode and Sanal, 42, from Kanyakumari on Sunday night has kidnapped Shaji who lives near the Neyar Dam.
The gang that followed the complainant, who was riding a scooter, first dropped it with their car before kidnapping it.
The house officer Maranalloor Renjith Kumar station said the gang took the shaji to Tamil Nadu and locked it at home in Thevankode.
The police found it after they identified the vehicle registration number used in crime from the supervisory camera.
They have provided information to other police stations.
The vehicle was then seen in Venkode under the boundary of the Vellarada police station.
This led to the arrest of the owner of the sanal car which revealed the existence of two accused and kidnappers.
The police said the gang carried out a crime for someone from Tamil Nadu.
Shaji allegedly borrowed Rs 5 lakh from him but failed to pay money back.
After this, the man allegedly hired the three men to kidnap shaji.
The probe will catch it too.
Shaji, who also has criminal records, previously involved in several vehicle and casing theft.
The police initially suspected that the kidnapping was carried out by someone involved in his past crime.
