Samsung has launched a new camera application for Galaxy Smartphones to offer a more complete photography experience in terms of shooting raw photos.
Dubbed Extreme RAW, a new camera application offers a multi-frame 16-bit raw support for all lenses including telephoto, ultra-width and primary sensors.
The official announcement page for the application states that the new camera application will offer more is in beta and released on the Galaxy Store.
Apple already has a similar feature called Proraw which offers a ‘pro’ experience on a particular iPhone model.
The Public Announcement page clearly mentions that the camera application will use multiprocessing techniques to compensate for noise, increase clarity and detail and also expand dynamic ranges to offer raw images with more information from shadows to highlights.
Instead of the default camera application on Samsung smartphones does a bad job.
This is a beautiful feature-rich camera application by offering many camera modes such as taking a single, slow motion, 8K video recording, and also raw mode support.
But RAW mode is only limited to ultra-wide and primary sensors from smartphones.
With the new extreme raw camera application, Samsung hopes to extend the feature to Telefoto and Periscope sensors too.
In addition to expanded RAW mode support, beta camera application also offers HDR functionality, lossless JPEG support, Pro mode controls with options to change ISO, shutter speed, exposure, focus, etc.
This application also displays the ability to directly export RAW photos to Adobe Lightroom.
The only limited thing now is its support.
The camera application is only available for the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Android 12 operating system 12.
APK file for the application is floating on the internet, but we recommend installing it only if it is available on the Galaxy Store for your smartphone.
