New Delhi: With the government allow airlines flying domestically without capacity restrictions, DGCA has approved the winter schedule for 22,287 domestic flights scheduled per week – down 4.4% from the same time in 2019-20.
While Spicejet who lacked money had seen maximum decline in flights, Vistara Tata Group had seen the biggest leap among major airlines during this period.
The last winter comparison was not made because there was a limit on how many domestic flights could operate at that time.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approved the 2021 winter schedule – which will be effective from 31 October to March 26, 2022, based on submission by scheduled domestic airlines.
Domestic flights, including those under the regional connectivity scheme, have been completed to and from 108 airports, including two new ones in Sindhudurg and Kushinagar.
Indigo himself contributed 46% of the flight on schedule.
Domestic publishers scheduled to be suspended from March 25 to May 2420, during national locking.
They were allowed to continue from May 25 with the government decided how many flights, in terms of the percentage of the 2019-20 winter schedule that apply before flight suspension, airlines can operate.
And tariff ribbons are introduced to the government deciding the maximum and minimum domestic airlines can charge depending on distance.
Now restrictions on capacity, which does not imply how full the place can fly, already gone and the full schedule returns.
Domestic ribbon validity now applies to flights booked within 15 days of travel.
The airline can charge the tariff based on market style demand and supply of tickets sold for traveling beyond 15 days of travel.
