New Delhi: Three men have been arrested for running online squeeze racquets diverted through Cambodia.
They use adware and pop-up browsers to display fake police notifications that direct the target to pay a fine of RS 3,000 to watch online pornography.
The defendant has been identified as Gabrial James and Ram Kumar from Chennai and B Dhinushanth of Trichy, which is the mastermind.
While monitoring complaints on social media, the police found several people who reported the notification where they were told by the “police” because they watched online pornography, all files on their computers had been blocked.
They have to pay a fine of RS 3,000 to pamper such “illegal” activities.
DCP (Cyber ​​Cell) Anyesh Roy said the victims reported that these messages came even though they only did a routine search in their web browser and did not watch pornographic content.
“Because this is the case of cheating on behalf of law enforcement agencies, FIR submitted Suo Motu based on social media input.
Technical analysis of pop-up notifications shows that they are directed through foreign locations.
However, the money footprint caused many accounts operating from Tamil Nadu.

They finally focused on three suspects and arrested them, “Roy added.
During interrogation, Dhinushanth revealed that the technical part of the Bogus police notification operation hosting and the targeted display for internet users – is being handled by his brother, B Chanderkant, from Veal PON near Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
“So far, we have found more than 20 bank accounts used to route cheating.
Cheating more than Rs 30 Lakh is done through IDS IDS and QR code from February to June.
